Therapist in Shoreham-by-Sea Supporting Emotional Clarity & Self-Trust

There are moments when something feels unsettled. Patterns repeat in relationships. Anxiety becomes familiar. Outwardly, life may look stable, yet internally, there is tension or misalignment.
As a qualified therapist in Shoreham-by-Sea, I work with individuals and couples who want to understand these patterns rather than suppress them. Therapy is not about dramatic change. It is about steady clarity, emotional regulation and rebuilding trust in your own responses.
I am Zsuzsanna Purnell, a qualified counsellor trained in Transactional Analysis and Transformational Self-Love Therapy. My work integrates psychological structure with embodied awareness to support meaningful development.

A Personal Turning Point That Shaped My Work

My professional life began in a very different field.

After moving to the UK from Hungary in my early twenties, I worked as an au pair, later building a career in hospitality before transitioning into a finance department role. On paper, it was progress. Internally, something felt disconnected.

Achievement did not create alignment.

This period of questioning led me to reconsider what meaningful work meant. I began working as a carer, supporting individuals during vulnerable stages of life. In that role, listening was not a technique. It was essential. Emotional presence mattered.

That experience revealed where my strengths naturally lay. I retrained as a Transactional Analysis counsellor and shifted fully into therapeutic work. For the first time, my professional path and personal values were integrated.

That integration continues to shape how I practise today.

Transformational Self-Love Therapy

Several years into my counselling work, I encountered Transformational Self-Love Therapy, also known as the I Love You Me method.
This approach integrates psychological insight with body awareness and structured emotional processing. It moves beyond conversation alone and supports integration across mind and emotion.
After experiencing the method personally, I chose to train as a Transformational Self-Love Coach and incorporate it into my therapeutic work.
You can learn more about this structured approach on the Transformational Self-Love Therapy page.

Considering Therapy as a Next Step

Beginning therapy does not require certainty. It simply requires the willingness to explore what feels difficult to resolve alone. If you are experiencing anxiety, relationship strain or a persistent sense of misalignment, a structured conversation can clarify what support might look like. Working with a therapist in Shoreham-by-Sea offers the opportunity to explore patterns in a calm and confidential setting, whether in person or online. The first step is not commitment. It is clarity.
